IMPROVE QUALITY BASIC AND INCLUSIVE EDUCATION

SAWA Aimed to address key educational priorities for ensuring access, equity, and quality education for all children

Key Interventions:

  • Improved Literacy and Numeracy: Enhancing student proficiency in foundational subjects like reading, writing, and arithmetic (3Rs), through Teaching at Right level Approach (TaRl)
  • Improve the quality of teaching and learning environments in basic and inclusive education: Enhancing the physical learning environment to ensure safe, conducive spaces for education.
  • Improve Water, Hygiene, and Sanitation (WASH) in schools by providing access to safe water and sanitary toilets to reduce the risk of communicable diseases, while also educating communities on the importance of proper hygiene and sanitation practices.
  • Social Accountability Monitoring (SAM): Through SAM, SAWA provides capacity strengthening to SAM monitors from the target communities as part of empowering them to take active participation in government planning and resource allocation. The purpose of the training is to empower them to become accountable and access government resources in their development project.
  • Engaging Communities in Decision-Making: Involving grass root communities in planning, decision-making, and implementing projects to foster ownership and responsibility.
