Women and girls' economic empowerment
At SAWA Wanawake Tanzania, we empower women and girls with the skills, knowledge, and resources they need to become economically independent and active contributors to their families and communities. Our programs focus on strengthening livelihoods, building life skills, and improving financial inclusion for sustainable development.
Key Interventions:
Livelihood and Economic Opportunities :
We support communities to improve their economic wellbeing by promoting
income-generating activities, employment opportunities, and vocational
skills development. Through Village Savings and Loan Groups (VSLGs),
women are able to save regularly, access small loans, start or expand
businesses, and build financial resilience while reducing poverty
at the household level.
Life Skills, SRHR, and Nutrition Education
for Girls: We provide life skills training, Sexual and Reproductive
Health and Rights (SRHR) education, and nutrition awareness to adolescent
girls. These programs help girls make informed decisions about their
health and wellbeing while building confidence, leadership, and self-esteem.
Mentorship programs connect girls with positive role models who guide
them in education, personal development, and future career opportunities.
Revolving Business Funds and Savings Groups
for SEGA Graduates: To support the transition of SEGA graduates
into economic independence, we facilitate revolving business funds
through structured financial loan schemes.
