My voice Project

Through the Tuwalinde Watoto Project, SAWA works to strengthen both formal and informal child protection systems by providing capacity-building trainings to community structures and facilitating referral mechanisms for children in need of support. In addition, the project integrates the My Voice initiative, which applies a child-friendly accountability approach by establishing Children’s Rights Clubs in schools. To date, 20 clubs have been formed across the communities we serve, creating safe spaces for children to learn, express themselves, and advocate for their rights.

Through these efforts, the project has reached over 5,000 children and peers with child rights awareness, while also strengthening reporting and response systems, with 570 child protection cases successfully referred to One Stop Centers for further support and services.
